We are committed to making a meaningful difference in the fight against prostate cancer.
Our mission is to energize an expanding network of friends and family focused on helping each other through prostate cancer treatments, building awareness of the disease and raising money to further research toward a cure.
We strive to make a significant difference to prostate cancer by building a growing, sustainable and impactful network.
About Our Organization
There is a positive in every situation no matter how bad that situation might be. For those of us who have experience with the disease we did not want it nor volunteer for it. It is just part of our life’s journey.
However, the positive is that we have an opportunity to help others who have been diagnosed. No one has to go through this alone. Anyone who wants to be our friend will be our friend.
In FFAPC, we respect the sensitivity of and desire for privacy of information. We are open and transparent when appropriate. We share medical experiences but do not give medical advice. We foster a sense of community, and are respectful of diverse experiences and backgrounds.
Why Support Prostate Cancer Awareness?
Frequency
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Further, a man dies every 15 minutes from prostate cancer. African American men have the highest incident and mortality of all ethnic groups
American Cancer Society Numbers
In 2023, ACS estimates for Prostate Cancer include about 288,000 new cases, about 35,000 deaths, and about 1 in 8 men being diagnosed in their lifetime
Impact
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men after lung cancer. Only 1/3 of men with late stage diagnosis will survive 5 years
Dialogue and Perception
Men may be more reluctant to talk about prostate cancer because it is a personal and sensitive topic. Prostate cancer is a male-specific cancer, and men may feel more vulnerable discussing it.

Our community is open to anyone who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, anyone who has family members or friends with prostate cancer, or anyone who is interested in supporting the cause for further research and education.

We only ask that you support the mission: promote awareness, help others, give to research.

By contributing to prostate cancer charities, you will fund new research and novel treatments, improving the lives of those affected by the disease. More effective treatments are especially needed for men with late-stage and metastatic disease.
